At Avant Garde Heroes, we believe that everyone is capable of achieving greatness with the right tools and support. Our Amazing Heroes program is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities (and anyone else wanting to join) to learn, grow and thrive. We provide a wide range of classes and activities that focus on emotional, physical, social and cognitive development. With our amazing team of passionate instructors and mentors, we strive to provide an engaging and inspiring learning experience for our participants.At just $135/month for unlimited classes, participants have classes to look forward to Monday to Thursday. Everyone is welcome to sign up.

Ventatia Zeelie

Hi! My name is Ventatia. As your Master Trainer and Nutrition Expert, I teach Adventure Fitness, Healthy Eats & Chats, and Cooking Classes. These classes revolve around creativity, flexibility, patience, and empathy. All that align with my passions and values.

I've been in the health and fitness industry for seven years, sharing my knowledge and inspiring wellness. While I specialize in special populations, I love providing support, motivation, and making my classes fun.

My goal is to provide an environment of inclusiveness that can ultimately benefit all members of the community through meaningful relationships.

When I'm not teaching, I'm getting in workouts with my pup, Appalachia. Traveling, enjoying some down time, and practicing self care.

Krista Morris

Hi! My name is Krista Morris.

I am happily married for 25 years, and have a beautiful daughter with disabilities.

Having over 25 years experience in working with people with disa, I have volunteered with Special Olympics (15 years), and Young life Capernaum (8 years). I also worked in an Autism Classroom in a public-school setting.

Further certifications in Article 9, CPR and First Aid, Prevention and Support, Habilitation and Attendant Care.

I am excited to be teaching Science, Movie Trivia, Theatre and Singing. Getting to know each one of you better!

Apart from teaching, my family and I love camping, fishing, watching movies, playing games together.

Zumba Teacher

Maya Dornig

Living an active and healthy lifestyle has always been a priority for me. My love for dance goes back to my childhood but it was not until 2013 when I found Zumba, that I incorporated dance exercise in my daily life. Having fun while exercising? What a concept! Certainly one I embraced. As a loyal student in Zumba classes all over the world, I continue to make life-long friendships while dancing. In 2018, I became a certified Zumba instructor and began teaching in-person classes in my hometown of Raglan, New Zealand. Fast-forward to pandemic times where the need for travel agents (my day job) became obsolete, I started focusing on nutrition studies and on my Zumba classes to help my students stay healthy, fit, have fun and to spread good energy during a time when the world really needed it. It was during that time that members of the special needs community reached out and asked if I was available to teach online classes. YES of course! Sharing my passion for fitness and dance with enthusiastic students of all abilities brings me so much joy! I have since attended trainings for the Aqua Zumba and Zumba Gold programs which helps me adapt and create a well rounded class experience for students with limited mobility and for my students with disabilities. Teaching classes at the Garden Foundation, Tribe Inclusive and the Ability Centre in Las Vegas has always been a highlight of my week and I am looking forward to continuing to bring Zumba joy to all the Amazing Heroes!
